About Us
History
Jim McLean, DPT, opened Frenchtown Physical Therapy in May 1996. He is now in his third location, and has grown from 400 sq ft to 2300 sq ft (and counting). We will be opening a new facility (with a therapy pool!) directly across the interstate in the fall of 2008.
Kate Skinner, DPT, joined us in 2005. Kate has advanced training in the Primal Reflex Relief Technique (PRRT), and several other manual therapy techniques. She has special interest in sports medicine.
Bess Markle, DPT, joined us in 2007. Bess is a Certified Lymphedema Specialist and enjoys working with post-mastectomy and other post-op patients that may have lymphedema. She also has advanced training in other manual therapy techniques.
Advanced Training
Frenchtown Physical Therapy is one of the only clinics in Montana that is fully staffed with Doctors of Physical Therapy. This means we work hard to use the latest research to improve your treatments. We are glad to provide you with educational materials that explain your injury.
Equipment
You might think that a small rural clinic is out-dated. Think again! Frenchtown Physical Therapy is one of the only clinics in the Missoula area with state-of-the-art cold laser to treat inflammation and trigger points. We are one of the few with "light boots" (Monochromatic Infrared Energy) that effectively treats peripheral neuropathy. We were the first clinic in the Missoula area with a "Game Ready" machine that uses NASA technology to combine cold therapy and compression to "squeeze" the swelling out of your joints.
We also have the usual aerobic equipment (bike, treadmill, elliptical), and strengthening equipment (Medical Exercise Therapy pulleys, Total Gym, & Total Back). We have the standard ultrasound, and several different kinds of electrical stimulation.
